4. How We Are Paid (Remuneration, Fees & Referral Arrangements)

Payment for our services can take several forms, all of which are clearly itemized on your policy quotation and tax invoice before you decide:

  • Commission Paid by Insurers: When we arrange a policy on your behalf, the insurer typically pays us a commission. This is calculated as a percentage of the base premium (excluding government taxes, stamp duty, and levies) and typically ranges between 0% and 27%.
  • Broker Service Fees: We may charge a dedicated Broker Fee or Policy Administration Fee to cover the professional time and analytical research required to structure and manage your insurance program. Any fee is disclosed prior to policy placement.
  • Premium Funding Commission: If you elect to fund your premium via monthly direct-debit installments, the premium funding provider may pay us a commission for arranging the finance contract (typically between 0% and 3% of the funded amount).
  • Referral Fees & Payments: If a third party refers you to us, we may pay them a referral fee or commission. Any referral arrangement is disclosed to you before cover is bound. Referrers are not authorised to provide financial product advice.
  • Binder & Underwriting Arrangements: In some cases, we may act under a binder or authority from an insurer or underwriting agency to quote, bind cover, or administer policies on their behalf. When acting under a binder, we act as the agent of the insurer, not as your agent. We will explicitly notify you whenever any transaction or policy is arranged under a binder arrangement.

5. Professional Indemnity & Compensation Arrangements

In accordance with Section 912B of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth), our licensee Metrix Connect Pty Ltd maintains comprehensive Professional Indemnity insurance that satisfies regulatory requirements. This insurance covers claims relating to conduct by employees and authorised representatives who no longer work with us, provided the insurer is notified within the relevant policy period.
